Moving to the Heart
This technique may become one of the cornerstones of your spiritual transformation.
Moving to the Heart (MH) is a simple protocol for creating a desired content of the mind. This technique is mostly suitable for methods aiming at achieving goals.
Once again, the Heart is the source of our individual reality. Therefore, if we move our Temporary I into the Heart and merge with it, a content of mind which we had been experiencing through the Temporary I will now gain true strength and foundation – because we will be experiencing it from the Heart. That’s why we can consider the MH process as the true creation of mind content.
The MH consists of five simple steps:

Therefore, if we move our Temporary I into the Heart and merge with it, a content of mind which we had been experiencing through the Temporary I will now gain true strength and foundation – because we will be experiencing it from the Heart. That’s why we can consider the MH process as the true creation of mind content.
The MH consists of five simple steps:
- Visualize and feel the desired content of your experience.
- Find the vantage point of the Temporary I from which you are experiencing the content.
- Move that Temporary I to the Heart. Let it sink naturally, deeply into your Heart. Leave it there.
- Notice this same content from its new point of view, with an emphasis on your identity as a person who now perceives the content. Tell yourself: “I am the one who is experiencing this mind content,” and feel from your Heart this new persona.
- Stay in this state of experiencing the desired identity and mind content from the Heart for at least 10 to 20 seconds. If you can’t retain yourself in this state due to appearance of another content of mind, do the DTI on that content, then repeat steps from 1 to 4.
The first step is similar to the well-known process of visualization, backed with corresponding emotions, although here we have no need to maintain prolonged visualization. It is sufficient to keep the content only long enough to proceed to step two.
Let’s say your desired content is to pass an exam. You could create a concrete picture in your mind where you are reading the results. They are very good for you and you feel happiness. This corresponding emotional background is very important for every successful visualization process.
The second step is quite straightforward, since you are already familiar with noticing the Temporary I from the previous subsection on “Dissolving the Temporary I”.
So, while you are experiencing this scene of successfully passing the exam, just try to feel where your “I-feeling” is at this moment. It may be in your head, neck, upper chest, somewhere between or someplace else.
The third step is moving the Temporary I to the Heart. Now, if possible, keep your attention on your mind content and move your Temporary I at the same time. If you can’t do that, just focus on your Temporary I unless it’s in the Heart.
Don’t think too much about how to do this, just allow the ephemeral center of your being to crawl naturally to the Heart area. For those of you that are visual learners, you might imagine that you (your center – the Temporary I) are moving on an elevator from your present position (say, from your head) to the Heart. But the most important thing in this process is that you really feel it.
The fourth step is a really essential part of the whole protocol. Now, your Temporary I and your Heart have merged. You are experiencing the desired mind content again, but this time from the Heart. The emphasis here is on feeling the identity of the being who is experiencing the content. You are such-and-such person who has that-and-that experience and you feel this straight from your Heart.
In our given example, you will announce to yourself (or your partner): “I am the one who has passed the exam very successfully.” Or, even better, “I am an excellent student who has passed this exam very successfully.” And you feel this identity whole-heartedly, from this new point of view – the Heart. So, your new identity is corresponding to your desired content: “I am an excellent student.”
It is advisable to formulate this MH statement before the MH procedure, so you do not have to pause before embodying it.
If this “identity” formulation is not applicable to your particular situation, you can use a statement which begins with “I feel that…” or whatever works for you. The main idea is to feel your new “I” identity from the Heart.
The fifth step is just as important as all the others. In fact, one of the strongest indicators of your impending achievement of the goal is the stability of the appropriate desired content within you. If the content vanishes quickly, or some distracting mind content appears, that indicates you are far from the accomplishment. If you can stay for longer periods and without much effort in the state of the imagined goal being already achieved, you are very near to the actual attainment.
With this technique you may, for example, put yourself right into a desired pleasant emotion, mental picture or state of mind… the precondition being that your mind is not overwhelmed with other content, so you can focus for several seconds on the desired experience. Because of this, it is better to complete any needed DTI before starting the MH, as that will ease the whole MH process.
